foreign travel and immunisation Most adults will have received routine adult immunisations. However, certain foreign travel exposes the traveller to different risks. The precise recommendations for travel vaccines vary from time to time and country to country.
There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below:
When travelling abroad, it is best to contact the surgery at least 2 months before your date of departure to complete a travel questionnaire.
Our travel questionnaire is available either from reception or electronically (download form or complete our online form).
When this is returned to the surgery, an appointment will be made for you to see the practice nurse.
When you attend your appointment our practice nurse will advise you of the vaccines required and administer them accordingly. If a course of vaccines is required a further appointment will be booked.
If, after the nurse has checked your records you do not require any vaccinations, we will notify you and your appointment will be cancelled.
Not all travel immunisations are available on the NHS. Therefore, depending on where you are travelling to, you may be required to pay for them in some instances.
Each country has its own recommendations on what vaccinations are important. For up to date information please visit our travel related links as outlined below.
