text message appointment reminders for patients
We now have the facility to send patients a text message to remind them of their appointments at the surgery. The text messages are sent automatically from our appointment system to each patient. The messages are sent at 18.00 the day before the appointment is due, (please note, the time you receive the text may vary due to the capacity of your mobile network).
Patients who sign up for this service will receive a message similar to the one below direct to their mobile phone.
“You have an appointment booked at the surgery for tomorrow at 10:20. If you no longer require this appointment, please call the surgery on 01258 474500”
This service is completely free and confidential for our patients and it is very simple to set up. When you next book an appointment the receptionist will ask you for your mobile phone number which will be added to your clinical record. Our appointment system then does all of the work automatically for us, sending out reminders to all patients for the following day.
If you would like to start receiving reminders via your mobile phone, please ask a member of the reception team who will be happy to set this up for you, alternatively you can message the practice from this site with your request. This service has been set up to assist patients by reminding them of their appointments, if you would prefer not to have access to this service, please just let the receptionist know and we can then amend our records accordingly.
